Ambassador of Armenia on special issues Edmon Marukyan On December 13, he said on the air of Armenian public television that Azerbaijan’s foreign ministers are in Washington Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan accepted the invitation of the United States to hold a meeting between:

“Now we have information about it, the work on Brussels has never stopped, the work continues for the meeting to take place in Brussels.”

The Armenian service of Radio Liberty – Azatutyun writes that according to the ambassador, this meeting should take place in January 2024.

Marukyan added that there is still no agreed draft of the peace treaty to be signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia:

“The hope is that we can reach the point where the text of the agreement will be finalized at this meeting in January at the level of the foreign ministers, to which Azerbaijan also agreed.”

The Azerbaijani side has not yet made a statement in this regard.

Yerevan urges Baku to continue negotiations on the Western platform

Azerbaijan should return to the negotiating table.

Azatutyun, the Armenian service of RFE/RL, writes that on December 13, his Estonian colleague Marqus Tsaxkna Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in a joint briefing with Ararat Mirzoyan said:

“We have said several times that a large part of the work on the peace agreement has already been done. Now we need to meet and reach final agreements on many issues.”

Addressing the issue of the format of the negotiations, Mirzoyan said that the negotiations should be continued through the mediation of international actors:

“But for this, the political will of Azerbaijan is needed.”
