As part of preparations for signing the final agreement regarding the Central Bank of Libya, representatives of the House of Representatives, the Supreme Council of State, and the Presidential Council arrived at the headquarters of the United Nations mission in Tripoli in preparation for signing the final agreement regarding the Central Bank of Libya.

Some ambassadors accredited to Libya also arrived to attend the signing of the final agreement regarding the Central Bank of Libya, in the presence of the acting UN envoy, Stephanie Khoury.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya announced (Wednesday) that “the State and House of Representatives have initialed an agreement to appoint a new administration for the Central Bank of Libya.”

The mission said in a statement, “At the conclusion of a new round of consultations facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to address the crisis of the Central Bank of Libya, representatives of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State today reached a settlement regarding appointing a new leadership for the bank.”

The statement added, “The two parties have initialed an agreement regarding the procedures, standards, and timetables for appointing a governor, a deputy governor, and a board of directors for the Central Bank of Libya, in accordance with the provisions of the Libyan Political Agreement.”

This came at the conclusion of a new round of consultations facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya at its headquarters in Tripoli, to address the crisis of the Central Bank of Libya.
