The Russian opposition website in exile Medusa spoke on August 23 with Ilia Ponomarev about the attack on Daria Duguina, daughter of the ideologist close to the Kremlin Alexander Dougin.
Ponomarev is a 47-year-old former Duma deputy, now a Ukrainian citizen residing in kyiv, and wanted by Russia. Coming from the Left Front, then elected from the Just Russia party, he took an active part in the major demonstrations of the years 2011-2012 and in the organization of the Federal Council for the Coordination of Protest Actions. In 2014, he was the only parliamentarian to vote against the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
In April 2022, Ilia Ponomarev launched the channel Other Fevralia (February morning) broadcast on the Internet, oriented to the Russian public and against the war in Ukraine.
