Following recent announcements regarding the Superleague, the Association of European Clubs responded in a press release by not supporting the project.
Thursday morning, the Court of Justice of the European Union delivered its verdict on the Superleague. Following announcements, the Association of European Clubs wanted to reiterate its position on the subject in a press release.
Made up of no less than 500 professional football clubs, the Association declared that: “The judgment in no way supports or approves a Super League project “. This project which appeared in 2021 had divided the opinions of clubs but also fans. The verdict handed down by the CJEU, however, stipulates that the creation of the Superleague “must not necessarily be authorized”.
