The reasons, which forced more than 150 businesses to appeal to the Supreme Court and other courts against the new law on Business Parks, are explained in a letter addressed to the prime minister and the presidents of the parties, by the Panhellenic Association of Established Businesses in Vi.PE (PASEVIPE ) and 13 Associations of Industrial Areas, among them those of Ioannina and Preveza.

At the same time, they request a meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and with the presidents of the parties, in order, through constructive proposals, to have greater supervision by the State and more rational development in the existing Business Parks.
The co-signatories point out that this specific law 4982/2022 completely destroys the concept of democracy, violates the constitutionally guaranteed right to property and – most importantly – puts thousands of jobs at immediate risk, as long as the businesses of the B.I.E. are converted gradually into a new generation of problematic, due to a steep and unpredictable increase in operating costs.
Referring to the new Operating Regulations of the VI.PE, which derive from the same law, they remind that they came from a completely disputed electoral process, which they do not recognize and which is not understood in a privileged democratic society, as the result of this was the abolition of the right business veto.
For the planned investments in infrastructure, which are absolutely needed by the BIPE, either in the context of the Recovery Fund or through other resources, they specify that any investments have always been and continue to be paid for by businesses. For this reason, it is unthinkable that landowners and businesses, who for decades have supported BI.PE, have no say in what investments are needed, how much they will cost and how they should be implemented.
Finally, referring to the negative consequences to date from the few months of implementation of Law 4982/2022, they ask why, at a time when the negative effects on our economy from monopolies are becoming evident, Greek production units are experiencing an extreme monopoly status, with the first and immediate consequence being the steep increase in their operating costs.
The letter is accompanied by related memoranda that have already been submitted to the Ministry of Development.
