jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) Mardani Ali Sera strongly condemned Israel’s siege and attack on the Indonesian Hospital in North Gaza.

“The Indonesian Hospital is one of the few hospitals in Gaza that is still partially functioning. The accusation that in the Indonesian hospital there were Hamas fighters who attacked Israel is a lie, aka there is no evidence,” said Mardani in a statement received in Jakarta, Friday (27 /12).

According to him, Israel’s attack on health facilities in the Gaza Strip was a structured, systematic and massive (TSM) policy which was carried out cruelly, barbarically and inhumanely.

“According to several sources, as of November 2024, only 17 of the 36 hospitals in Gaza were still functioning. The rest were destroyed or partially functioning due to Israel’s brutal attacks. This is clearly TSM. Surprisingly, the international community has not done much. This is clearly terror which is very scary,” he said.

Therefore, the PKS faction member urged the global community, especially the United Nations (UN), to put strong and immediate pressure on Israel to comply with international law.

“Especially Article 18 of the Hague Convention on the Laws and Customs of War on Land in 1907 which prohibits attacks on hospitals, medical facilities and medical personnel who collect, treat and evacuate wounded and sick people in armed conflict,” he said.

He also considered Israel’s attacks on various health facilities and refugee shelters as an effort aimed at exterminating and expelling Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

“We must continue to work for a ceasefire, ensure the distribution of humanitarian aid, provide safe corridors for civilians and make it possible to punish Israel at the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court,” he said.
