For nearly an hour and a half, the ensemble, led by Mounchid Mouhcine Naourach and composed of twelve members, delighted a receptive audience, who came in large numbers to attend this performance of melodies and panegyrics praising the Prophet Sidna Mohammed and glorifying the Almighty.
The members of the ensemble performed several Sufi odes, including qassidat “Al-Burda” by Imam Al Boussairi, one of the most famous poems in praise of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, and “Al Hamziya”, generating great interaction with the audience.
In a statement to MAP, Mr. Naourach indicated that this Sufi night is an opportunity to meet the public and entertain them with a variety of qassidat and to make known this Moroccan heritage which is always present in the Moroccan conscience and memory in its different manifestations.
“It is a pleasant and beautiful moment and a Sufi journey par excellence to enjoy the Tijani samaa and madih in glory of the Messenger of Allah,” he said.
Considered an integral part of the Moroccan musical repertoire, the Tariqa Tijaniya highlights Sufi amdahs, mixing them with authentic Moroccan rhythms with the idea of ensuring its transmission to future generations.
