Vice President of the Audit Bureau, Attiya Al-Saeeti, issued two separate letters, the first to the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, and the second to the Minister of Education, Musa Al-Magariaf, demanding that they take urgent measures regarding financial and administrative violations.
Wadi Al-Majnin Dam
In the letter addressed to Al-Dabaiba, the Audit Bureau expressed its concern about the laxity of the technical committee that was formed by Al-Dabaiba Resolution No. (104) of 2024 AD to address the risks associated with the Wadi Al-Majnin Dam.
The Bureau indicated that the results of its follow-up showed that the committee did not implement the tasks assigned to it, which threatens the safety of the dam and poses a potential danger to residents.
The Bureau called on the Prime Minister to issue instructions to activate the committee’s work and link it to a specific time frame to ensure effective implementation.
Failure to transfer Ministry of Education funds
In the letter addressed to the Minister of Education, the Audit Bureau stressed the necessity of transferring the remaining book balances in the Ministry from the ending fiscal year to the public revenue account.
The Bureau stated that an examination of the accounts of the Ministry of Education for the first half of the current year 2021 revealed that the Ministry continued to retain balances, amounting to approximately 32.5 million dinars, without working to refer them to the Ministry of Finance, despite the Bureau repeatedly addressing the relevant officials.
The Bureau called on the Minister of Education to take urgent measures to implement the law and hold officials responsible for failure to perform their duties.
