The authorities of the Sverdlovsk region will introduce a QR code system for visiting some public places on October 30, TASS reports, citing Deputy Governor Pavel Krekov. Previously, such a measure was planned to be introduced on November 8.

On October 12, Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev announced the strengthening of measures to combat coronavirus in the Sverdlovsk region. From October 25, the presence of a certificate of vaccination against coronavirus or transferred COVID-19 will be a prerequisite for visiting museums, libraries, exhibition centers, physical education and sports facilities (with the exception of professional sports clubs and sports schools). It was planned that from November 8 without a QR code they would not be allowed to enter theaters, philharmonic halls, concert halls, cinemas, palaces and houses of culture, beauty salons, sanatoriums and recreation centers.

In addition, from October 25, officials will have to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a document on the past six months of illness, otherwise they will be suspended from work. The same rule applies to municipal administrations. The restrictions will affect citizens over 18 years of age.

In Russia, the days from October 30 to November 7 have been declared non-working by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Regions, depending on the situation with COVID-19, received the right to determine themselves which days will be non-working or to extend them after November 7, if necessary. According to the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus on October 21, in the Sverdlovsk region since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 150 thousand cases of coronavirus have been recorded, more than 137 thousand people have recovered, 7 thousand have died.
