An award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup took place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Day.Az reported on Sunday with reference to Trend.
The winners and prize-winners in the individual exercise program with a hoop and ball, as well as the teams in group exercises that performed in the program with five hoops, were awarded.
In the hoop exercise program, Daria Varfolomeev (Germany) won the gold medal, Sofia Raffaeli (Italy) won the silver, and Eva Brezalieva (Bulgaria) won the bronze medal.
The awards were presented by member of the Technical Committee for Rhythmic Gymnastics of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Isabel Savade, international judge, member of the Technical Committee for Rhythmic Gymnastics of European Gymnastics Evgenia Vilyaeva and head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Gymnastics at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports Gurka Gancheva.
Daria Varfolomeev (Germany) rose to the highest step of the podium in ball exercises, Eva Brezalieva (Bulgaria) took second place, and Taisiya Onofriychuk (Ukraine) took third place.
The awards were presented by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Farid Gaibov, the President of the Bahamas Gymnastics Federation Hepburn Hepburn Cora Valderin and the Director of the National Gymnastics Arena Emil Mustafayev.
Among the teams in group exercises in the program with five hoops, the Japanese team took first place, the Italian team took second place, and the Azerbaijani team took third place.
The awards were presented by the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Mariana Vasileva and the director of the competition Natalya Bulanova.
It should be noted that the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup is taking place at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on April 19-21. Over 110 gymnasts from more than 40 countries take part in the competition.
