The Girona en Moviment festival will open its fourth edition with the premiere in Catalonia ofNaked of the company Metamorphosis Dansa.
The solidarity festival organized by the Fundació Oncolliga Girona and the Associació Cultura en Moviment will be held from 14 to 17 July. It will open it Nakedthe piece with which choreographer and dancer Iratxe Ansa, National Dance Award 2020, took Max to the best female dance performer last year. The show will be followed by a talk with Ansa and her partner, Igor Bacovich, Premio Nazionale Sfera d’Oro for Dance 2021 in Italy. It can be seen on El Canal de Salt (Thursday 14 July, 8.30 pm) and tickets are already on sale on the festival website.
Tickets are also on sale for the festival’s other big show, the traditional gala Catalonia dances against cancer, which returns to the stage of the Municipal Theater (Sunday 17 July, 7.30 pm). The gala will once again feature Catalan and international solo dancers from prestigious companies around the world who join forces to help people affected by cancer. Organizers have also recovered the closing cocktail, which in the 2021 edition could not be held due to Covid restrictions. The cocktail is held at the end of the function, in the Rest Hall of the Municipal Theater, and is an opportunity to meet in person the dancers who have participated in the gala.
In the middle of these shows, you can also see Gospel by the choreographer Maria Rovira, director of the Crea Dance company, a proposal inspired by the film Sky over Berlin, by Wim Wenders. The show will be shown at the La Mercè Cultural Center on Saturday 16 July and tickets will go on sale on the festival website at the end of May.
Girona en Moviment’s programming also includes various workshops, dance and street music, an intensive dance workshop and the screening of the finalists of the short film competition on movement, creativity and mental health.
