In the pre-pandemic period, we held the International Artistic Gymnastics Tournament several times; this year it was decided to resume these competitions.
As Day.Az reported on Friday with reference to Trend, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Nurlana Mammadzade told reporters.
“The international artistic gymnastics tournament “AGF Trophy” will be held over three days. The tournament is held both among representatives of men’s artistic gymnastics and among representatives of women’s artistic gymnastics. If we compare with previous competitions, at first we held a tournament among juniors, and this Since it involves gymnasts in the age categories “pre-juniors,” “juniors,” and “adults.” Participants compete both on individual apparatus and in the all-around and team competition,” she noted.
Nurlana Mammadzade emphasized that Azerbaijan is represented in total by 22 gymnasts at these competitions.
“The competition is a good opportunity for athletes to test their strength,” added the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.
It should be noted that the International Artistic Gymnastics Tournament “AGF Trophy” is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku from March 15 to 17. About 90 athletes representing Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Georgia are participating in the competition.
The first two days of the tournament will feature qualifying competitions, followed by the finals on the final day.
