The band reunited after 20 years in a joint show with Andalusian

by time news

An exciting union. The Israeli Andalusian Ashdod Orchestra collaborates with a lip band that brought the Moroccan language and music to the forefront of the Israeli mainstream and recently reunited after 20 years. The joining of forces produced a joint concert called “Ahlan and Sahlan”, and it will be performed starting next month in a series of performances.

A breakthrough phenomenon

Shfatim is considered a groundbreaking phenomenon that changed the face of the musical scene in Israel – when she chose to speak “in two languages” and created a fusion that combined Moroccan folk music with local Israeli music with touches of rock and roll – a combination that succeeded in breaking cultural and geographic barriers and stereotypes and turning “sectarian music” into a consensus.

In the concert, the band’s favorite hits will be performed in a new and surprising orchestral arrangement conducted by Roi Azoulai, artistic direction by Elad Levy.
