Tirunelveli: A Canara Bank manager who was transferred from Tirunelveli to Mudukulattur committed suicide.
Murugesan, 52, worked as a manager at Canara Bank in Mookakaraipatti, Tirunelveli district. His wife is a government school teacher there. Their daughter is studying Plus 2 in Tirunelveli. After completing three years of service at Kookaraipatti branch, he was transferred to Kovilpatti branch, Tuticorin district. As Murugesan’s daughter is studying Plus 2, he asked for permission to continue in Kookaraipatti for one year only. But, he was transferred to Mudukultur branch, Ramanathapuram district. Due to this, he did not go to work for 15 days. The bank administration took action against him. Yesterday he committed suicide by hanging himself on the floor of his house in Perumalpuram. Police are investigating.
