Homeland Today: Activists on social media celebrated the meeting of the Palestinian Ambassador to Britain, Hossam Zomlot, with the famous American journalist Piers Morgan, Thursday, October 19, 2023, where he faced his host’s questions with answers that refuted the Western media’s vision of the Israeli aggression against Gaza and the occupied territories.
Regarding his question about who was responsible behind the bombing of the Baptist Hospital on the evening of Tuesday, the 17th of this month, Ambassador Zomlot said that it was Israel that bombed the hospital, citing the occupation’s demand to evacuate the hospital before that, noting that the Archbishop of Jerusalem condemned the occupation’s raid on the hospital.
When the broadcaster responded that the British BBC had prepared a quick investigation and found that the bombing of the hospital had come from inside Gaza, Zomlot responded that the BBC was among the mouths of the occupying state and its media machine, pointing out that he did not believe it.
When the broadcaster cited US President Joe Biden’s narration that “Hamas is responsible for the bombing of the hospital,” he asked, “Do you think Biden is lying?”, to which Zomlot replied: “Yes, he is lying.”
Zomlot stressed that what is happening is “obscuring the facts and psychological manipulation,” and explained that the resistance at home does not possess this destructive ability of missiles.
The Palestinian ambassador said that Biden “had a hand in this,” and “he lied before obtaining any evidence,” pointing out that Israel did so knowing that the world was giving it the green light, and that after months or more it would come out admitting that it was responsible for the bombing “after “It’s too late.”
Since October 7, Israel has continued to launch intensive raids on Gaza, leaving thousands of civilians dead and wounded, and cutting off its supplies of water, electricity, food, and medicine. This sparked local and international warnings of a double humanitarian catastrophe, in parallel with intense Israeli raids and arrests in cities and towns of the occupied West Bank.
