In implementation of the BBR Strategy 2024-2026 and according to its Statute, the measures proposed by the bank to support state and private enterprises from the defense industry and companies that produce products or services for export were approved
The parameters of programs for financing enterprises from the military industrial complex and financing production companies for their pre-export and export activities were discussed by the representatives of the national employers’ organizations, the leading trade unions and the National Association of Municipalities.
The BDB strategy for the period 2024-2026 foresees support for strategic sectors of the country, including defense and the military-industrial complex, which in recent years have had difficulty accessing banking services.
The program to support the defense industry aims to provide the necessary working capital for production and export from the sector, as well as financial assistance for the implementation of planned investments.
BBR will also offer financing to companies registered in Bulgaria that produce products or services that are sold outside the country. Companies will be able to benefit both from support for working capital necessary for the production of export products or services, and from support for their investment intentions leading to the stabilization or expansion of production for export.
The Advisory Council to the National Assembly of the BDB, established in 2023, aims to exercise public control over the activities of the BDB, optimize the process for creating new financial products and ensure a direct connection between the bank and business.
