BELLUNO. A bear passing through the Lower Feltre area was captured by camera traps on Mount Ronconin the province of Belluno. It would be an example of adult maleperhaps the same bear that last July 6th had hit some apiaries in the locality of Sovramonte (Belluno). It is probably the same animal that a few days later had been reported nearby, in Trentino territory.
In all likelihood the bear is roaming the area, underlines the Provincial Police who invites beekeepers to adopt all useful actions to secure the hives. After the specimens that passed through the Zoldano and Feltrino between May and June, now the plantigrade has been spotted on Monte Roncon on the Grappa massif, between Seren and Fonzaso. The animal was ‘photo-trapped’ last night, from the post of a controller who collaborates with the Province and who falls within the scope of the regional control plan for urgent interventions for the containment and prevention of African swine fever.
