Artist Yen Chi She was the top student in her first class of university, graduated in 1990 from Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema until 1994. With that achievement, she was retained as a lecturer in the Faculty of Performing Arts. While teaching, lecturer Yen Chi once thought that she would no longer have the chance to participate in acting because this job took up all of her time.

Since moving to Ho Chi Minh City, artist Yen Chi has been an excellent lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema. She is an Associate Professor – Doctor of Fine Arts, and was promoted to Head of the Department of Acting. Artist Yen Chi is loved by students for her modesty, diligence, and enthusiasm in teaching.

Artist Yen Chi has completed a ministerial-level scientific research project, entitled: Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi Stage with its unique features. She hopes that through this scientific research project, she will analyze the differences between the two regions’ stages, thereby having a basis for contributing to the orientation and investment strategies for stages that have influence on the public and are funded to stage high-end works according to the State’s orders.

With over 30 years in the profession, artist Yen Chi has gone through many hardships to make her name. Her valuable experiences are always lessons for the younger generation of actors and help her stand firm on the podium.

The role of Khuyet in the play Bao khong mua is a beautiful mark for her stage career when she participated in plays on the stage of Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theater.

Taking on such a famous historical character was a huge pressure for Yen Chi, who had to spend many years learning how to act, from her gait, gestures to her speech, in order to most realistically portray Queen Nam Phuong.
