jpnn.comPEKANBARU – Riau Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal gathered all candidate pairs competing in the regional elections in Bumi Lancang Kuning, for a joint prayer for peace and security.
The joint prayer activity was carried out in the yard of the Riau Regional Police Headquarters, Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
This joint prayer was attended by 3000 people, inviting the famous Ustad Das’ad Latif who was brought in especially to provide spiritual guidance.
In this joint prayer, three pairs of candidates for Governor-Deputy Governor of Riau, namely Abdul Wahid-SF Hariyanto, M Nasir-HM Wardana and Syamsuar-Mawardi were seen present.
In addition, a number of regional heads and candidates for regent-deputy regent, mayor-deputy mayor participated in this joint prayer.
Riau Police Chief Inspector General M Iqbal said, to realize a peaceful regional election, all parties must sit together and join hands to create a conducive situation.
“We deliberately invite all candidate pairs for governor-deputy governor, regent-deputy regent and mayor-deputy mayor, winning teams, supporting parties, Forkopimda and others to pray to Allah so that peace and conduciveness are always maintained,” he said.
The presence of ustad Das’at Latif is enough to attract the interest of the congregation to attend. As a speaker, Ustad Das’at Latif conveyed to the contestants what it means to be a leader.
