One of the exciting affairs that Israeli culture has known in recent times comes to an end this evening (Tuesday), when Kobi Peretz will host Hanan Yuval in his appearance at the “Grey” club in Yehud. As I recall, the affair began with Yuval’s refusal to appear at the Memorial Day ceremony planned for this year’s Knesset, as a protest against the conduct of elected officials. MK Dodi Amsalem of the Likud attacked Yuval for his decision (“Who is this?”), and offered to invite Peretz in his place, which drew many slanderous reactions to Peretz in the networks. He added that he appreciates Yuval, and finally the two decided that they would perform together. Just before the performance, we sat down for a short interview.

What do you think about the situation in the country?
“The situation is not good. I want one person to stand up and say stop everything, now are the holidays, let’s talk,” says Hanan Yuval with concern, and Kobi Peretz immediately complements him with optimism and faith: “We pray, hope and wish for unity because in wars there are no winners, there are only losers and when peace will exist among us All our neighbors will also see how much we are a light to the Gentiles and the best example to the whole world.”
What is it like to be artists in this period?
“Every person has the democratic right to express their opinion and artists and well-known people can have an influence, it’s just important to do it carefully without discrediting. If we have the ability to help the public reach a dialogue and reach a middle ground, our power is important.”
Is this a single joint performance or the beginning of a long-term collaboration?
Yuval Mead modestly tells us that this is Peretz’s appearance and according to him he welcomes her with great love. Peretz completes his words and says excitedly: “I call this collaboration the beginning of a wonderful and wonderful friendship.”
What reactions do you get about the collaboration in your audience?
“Eyebrows were raised, this is an outstanding collaboration and we are told that we are the best example of everything that happens up there.”
What is the important message for you to convey to the people of Israel in this cooperation?
“That everything is possible. May we be blessed with a lot of free love and as we said at the beginning when we are together as an Israeli society no one can over us.”
