The radical climate protectionists who have been blocking freeways in Berlin for weeks should pay for the police operations they cause. “We are already checking whether we can issue cost notices,” Berlin’s Senator for the Interior, Iris Spranger (SPD), told the Berliner Zeitung on Monday. “Because every operation costs Berliners’ taxpayers’ money. The police now know those who have repeatedly committed these crimes. If they are repeat offenders, their personal details are known.”
