For the year 2021-22, the District Arts Council is to convene a governing body to present awards based on age and artistic merit to 15 artists who excel in one or more of the arts, such as science, music and drama.
Song, Bharata Natyam, Painting, Kummik Golattam, Mayilattam, Pavaikkuttu, Dolpavai, Nayandi Melam, Karakattam, Kavadiyattam, Poikkal Kudirai, Marakkal Attam, Kolkal Attam, Kaliyal Attam, Puliyattam, Kalaiyattam, Manattam, Pambattam, Kuravan- , Folk arts including classical arts including immersion, handicrafts, musical instruments and classical arts can be applied by those who excel in all types of Muthamil arts.
The Art Bachelor Award will be given to artists under the age of 18, the Art Grower Award to artists between the ages of 19 and 35, the Art Shoot Award to artists between the ages of 36 and 50, the Art Nanmani Award to artists between the ages of 51 and 65, and the Art Master Award to artists over the age of 66.
Artists from the district can apply with copies of age certificates and art certificates. Also, artists who have received awards from the National Award, State Award and District Arts Council should not apply.
Therefore, eligible artists can send their applications to the Assistant Director, Zonal Arts and Culture Center, Night Soil Depot Road, Moolathoppu, Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli-06 by March 21.
