Berlin’s IFA 2026 tech expo brought major hardware reveals to Messe Berlin in September 2026, showcasing innovations ranging from high-refresh 4K projectors and consumer hearing aids to somersaulting humanoid robots and apartment-friendly kitchen appliances.

Europe’s answer to CES took over Berlin over the course of a week, bringing a distinctly more democratic and public-facing air to the sprawling exhibition halls of Messe Berlin. While traditional appliance giants like Miele, Siemens, Midea, and Bosch occupied the front halls with washing machines and refrigerators, the upper tiers of the conference displayed a wave of consumer tech driven by artificial intelligence, retro revivals, and refined home theater systems.

XGIMI and JMGO Push 4K Projection Limits at IFA 2026

Home theater enthusiasts found plenty of high-end display hardware on the convention floor, anchored by two standout projector releases. XGIMI debuted the Aura 3 Max, a powerful short-throw projector featuring a 120Hz refresh rate tailored for sports and gaming. Built with a 4K UHD and RGB triple-laser projection system, the device includes Harman Kardon audio and a polished physical chassis designed to blend into living room aesthetics when powered off.

Meanwhile, JMGO introduced the IRIS Ultra Max, cited as one of the world’s first true native 4K 120Hz flagship smart projectors. Delivering unshifted 4K from input to output in a compact housing, the projector utilizes a dual iris system with 6+9 blades—the highest count in its class—aimed at improving stray light suppression by 11 percent.

Agibot A3 and Hypershell X Ultra S Redefine Robotics and Mobility

Robotics maintained a heavy presence across the venue, balancing practical utility with spectacle. Agibot showcased the full-sized Agibot A3, a lightweight humanoid robot weighing 55kg that delivers up to 12kW of instant peak power through a 0.218kW/kg power-to-weight ratio, allowing it to perform somersaults.

The A3 runs for up to 10 hours on a hot-swappable battery and fits inside an SUV for travel. Beyond voice and app controls, it introduces touch sensing for physical interaction, a 360-degree multi-array microphone system for noisy environments, and precise Ultra-Wideband (UWB) positioning for swarm coordination of up to 100 individual units.

For human mobility, the Hypershell X Ultra S exoskeleton made an appearance following high-profile trials with mountaineer Adriana Brownlee on Mount Everest and athlete Aurélien Fontenoy on Route 66. Featuring an AI motion-control system that translates sensor data directly into motor torque, the sub-2kg device offers 12 active modes—including a Gentle Assist mode for older adults—at a consumer price point under $2,000, marking a steep drop from industrial units historically priced at $100,000 and above.

Anker Audio Innovations Target Sleep Tracking and OTC Hearing Support

Anker expanded its audio engineering footprint into health and wellness hardware with two distinct product lines. The Soundcore Sleep Earbuds 4 Pro utilize in-ear PPG optical sensors to monitor heart rate directly from the ear canal, feeding data into a smart-screen, phone-free SleepHub charging case equipped with passive isolation, 30dB active noise cancellation, and automated snore-masking sounds according to the outlet’s reporting.

On the consumer medical front, Anker RIC Hearing Aids Pro adapted wireless earbud technology to over-the-counter hearing assistance, leveraging acoustic tech from the Liberty 5 Pro series inside a discreet design featuring a rechargeable touchscreen case.

Niche Hardware Solutions for Small Spaces and Retro Audio Fans

Hardware designers also targeted compact living spaces and physical media revivals. Ooni introduced the Volt 2, a countertop pizza oven only slightly larger than a toaster oven that reaches 850 degrees while doubling as a regular baking oven for apartment-bound cooks.

Capitalizing on the ongoing physical CD revival, Fosi Audio displayed the Disc Nano, a statement home-audio player smaller than a compact disc itself, designed so the top of the spinning disc remains exposed during playback.

Other notable hardware mentions across the Berlin exhibition included TCL’s P80 Ultra smartphone, which features a dedicated button to switch its Android interface into a low-glare, e-ink-like display for reading and note-taking; Govee’s Sky Ceiling Light, designed to emulate natural daylight cycles; and Ultimea’s budget-friendly home theater soundbars.
