In 2007, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki first appeared on TV in “The Big Bang Theory.” Exactly 15 years ago today, on July 11, 2009, the cult series also came to German television. What the viewers in front of the screens didn’t know, however, was that at that time the two actors were not only colleagues, but also a couple. Their relationship lasted a total of two years before they split up again in 2010.
The two also played a couple for a while in the sitcom. However, when their roles became more intimate in front of the camera, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki had long since separated. The sex scenes in the series were a little “tricky” from then on, Kaley Cuoco once said in the podcast “Armchair Expert”. She even suspected that the writers had deliberately written a lot of physical proximity into the scripts: “Suddenly it was as if our characters were sleeping together every other minute.”
They basically just attacked each other for the series and in her eyes it was done on purpose. “They wanted to annoy us,” said the now 38-year-old. But she talked to her ex-boyfriend and solved the problem. “Luckily Johnny and I handled it so brilliantly and today we are closer than ever,” said Kaley Cuoco.
The two split up in 2010. Despite the end of their relationship behind the camera, the series continued – for another nine years. In 2019, “The Big Bang Theory” ended after almost 300 episodes. In the end, both of them received a fee of one million US dollars per episode.
Both Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco now have a new partner. The Penny actress has been in a relationship with actor Tom Pelphrey, who is three years older than her, for two and a half years. Their daughter was born in March 2023. Her acting colleague has been in a relationship with Morgan Galecki since 2023.
