It should be a relaxing exercise for the candidates in their last week of camp at “The Biggest Loser – Family Power Couples”. However, two participants were terrified!
“Mental Coach” and psychotherapist Hassina Bahlol-Schröer invited the weight loss candidates to the sea after five exhausting weeks. In an airy catamaran, the semi-finalists were supposed to drive over the wide waves and review their time at camp so far.
But even before the anchors were lifted, candidate Manni (55, takeoff weight 129.3 kilos) had problems. He just didn’t want to get on board: “I’ve already told you that I almost drowned once, and that’s hard for me now.” The fear developed into a really bad panic attack! Hassina worried: “Right at the beginning, Manni had a panic attack. He was visibly under tension, he was trembling, he was very scared. ”

The therapist tried soothing words: “Take the stress out, make yourself aware: You are not forced to do anything here.” Spontaneous healing followed: “Take three more deep breaths, and then you do it at your own pace.”
Manni got on the catamaran! For mental coach Hassina, the attack also had a positive effect on Manni’s son Lucas (19, starting weight 128.7 kilos): “Now Lucas is learning: my father faces his fears.”
The team went to sea, Manni slowly showed a healthier complexion again – but after happy sailing, mental coach Hassina came up with the next challenge: Jump from the boat into the water: “The leap into my new life.”
Manni was out immediately! Candidate Natalja (47, starting weight 106 kilos) didn’t want either: “I’m afraid of heights, and jumping into the water is absolutely not for me.”
Instead of accepting that, mental coach Hassina spoke to the candidate’s conscience: “The point is that in the future you will face many situations that are difficult, that require courage, that may catch you freezing – and take on this challenge place.”

Natalja was now determined to take the plunge. But then the mother broke down crying on the railing, clung desperately to the railing, could hardly breathe!
Hassina held on to the candidate: “Natalja was completely caught up in her fear.” A short time later, Natalja went very cautiously into the water from a low height.
