The decision was made at the beginning of 2018. The procedures to activate the Foundation and renovate its headquarters took over two years. The covid did the rest. Thus the collection of the well-known tax advisers Luigi Biscozzi, who died in the same 2018, and Dominique Rimbaud, his wife, took too long to be available to the Apulians (it is a only in the region) and to those who want to admire a cross-section of Italian contemporary art and not only of the highest level.
There are about 200 works that the couple has collected over time, starting in 1969 with two lithographs and moving on to the most valuable, especially canvases and sculptures, in the 1980s. permanent in the new exhibition structure located in a building formerly part of a medieval monastic complex, near Porta Napoli, in the square overlooked by the eighteenth-century church of the Alcantarine.

Among the favorite artists of the couple also the Calabrian Angelo Savelli, to whom the first of the temporary exhibitions that will regularly enrich the visit to the collection is dedicated. Angelo Savelli (1911-1995). The white artist, open until November 7th, presents an innovator, capable of crossing the figurative, informal and abstract art, up to his paradigmatic “white works”, the result of experiments conducted from the second half of the 50s and then progressively evolved. A chronological path, which, in 23 important outcomes, takes the visitor from the bold colors and the dense initial pictorial matter to white, the exclusive protagonist of a search for infinity inevitably without a point of arrival.
