Rescuers found the body of another person missing from a small boat that capsized in the Barents Sea last week. The total number of victims of the crash has reached three, according to the website of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the TFR. The search for another passenger is ongoing.

According to the department, there were a woman born in 1964 on board the vessel, as well as workers of the repair and maintenance service in the city of Zapolyarny and PJSC Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company. The ICR noted that the fishermen did not send a distress signal due to the ship’s wreck, so the search and rescue operation began only a few hours after the emergency: after finding the capsized ship and the surviving passenger near the coast.

In the evening of September 7, a small vessel, sailing to the Dolgaya Shchel gorge, at a distance of about 70-100 m from the coastline, suffered a disaster after a wave rolled and subsequently capsized in the Pechenga region. There were four passengers and a ship owner on board. One person managed to escape. On the fact of the incident, the investigators opened a criminal case on violation of traffic safety rules and the operation of sea transport (part 3 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

As specified on the website of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Murmansk region, to date, more than 18 km of the coastline, 32 sq. km of the bay area, including 13 sq. km using aviation, as well as 2800 sq. m by divers.
