The bodies of two soldiers and three civilians, one of whom was a woman, were found during raids by army and domestic intelligence officers.
Israeli forces were not engaged in fighting with Palestinian militants in the tunnel during this operation, and the site was not guarded, the radio reported.
However, several gunfights between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians took place on the road near the tunnel, killing around 30 terrorists, the army said.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces reported that bodies were found in the southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday and brought to Israel.
One of the people whose remains have been found is a 56-year-old woman. She lived in a kibbutz not far from the border of the Gaza Strip, the army said.
The woman was killed in a massacre by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in southern Israel on October 7 and her body was taken to Gaza, the army said.
Two soldiers were also killed during the October 7 attack, and their bodies were also brought to the Gaza Strip afterwards.
