The bodies of two more victims at the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo Region were brought to the surface by rescuers after the resumption of prospecting work. Today, three branches of VGNG have begun to descend into the mine for exploration, the regional government reports. Let us remind you that the accident at the mine occurred in the morning of November 25, as a result 51 people died – 46 miners and 5 mine rescuers.
“Departments of mine rescuers moved to the emergency area to search for and transport the bodies of the dead,” the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Main Directorate said.
Mine rescue operations were suspended on 30 November due to high methane concentrations and several fires. During these days, the gas situation was stabilized. To ensure safe access to the mine, rescuers were engaged in pumping water out of mine workings, drilling wells for pumping stabilizing substances (nitrogen, carbon dioxide, freon), the press service of the Kuzbass government reports. In total, seven drilling rigs were deployed at the scene of the accident, two of which were stopped at control points – 20 meters to the drift, they are being cased.
Today the government of Kuzbass announced additional payments to the families of the victims of 1 million rubles, to the victims who are in serious condition – 400 thousand rubles each, 200 thousand rubles each – to those who are in a state of moderate and mild severity. Earlier, the Russian government reported on similar measures to support victims at Listvyazhnaya.
According to updated data, at 14:00 local time, there are 16 people in the Kuzbass hospitals, 83 – in the outpatient department. The total number of victims increased to 99. In Kuzbass, it is planned to hold mourning events for the victims on December 3.
