The body of a medical student who died in the Philippines was brought to Tamil Nadu at government expense

The body of Sashtikumar, a medical student from Bodinayakkanur, Rasingapuram, Theni district, who died in the Philippines, was brought to Tamil Nadu at the expense of the government due to the action of the Tamil Nadu government.

Sashtikumar, the son of Balasekaran, who lives in the middle of Bodinayakkanur Rasingapuram in Theni district, was studying medicine at the AMA Medical College in the Philippines.

On the 15th, Sashtikumar drowned while bathing in a waterfall in the Philippines. In this situation, former Deputy Chief Minister O Panneer Selvam had requested Chief Minister MK Stalin to make arrangements to bring his body back to his hometown.

Following this, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu with the help of the Foreign Office of the Central Government in collaboration with the Foreign Welfare Commission of the State of Tamil Nadu took steps to bring the body of the deceased Sashtikumar to Tamil Nadu in the Philippines.

Following this, Sashtimar’s body was brought to the Chennai airport by air from the Philippines this morning. Authorities subsequently handed over the body to his parents at the airport.

His body was taken to his hometown by a free ambulance on behalf of the government.
