The coffin of Roman Brodsky who was killed during an escape attempt Kyiv went to the Ukrainian border Moldova to Romania on its way to Israel. This is thanks to strenuous activity and difficult war conditions and the joint efforts of Foreign Ministry officials, ZAK members, a Chabad emissary in Zhitomir, friends and the family of the deceased.

Brodsky, 42, a father of two, is a resident of Ashkelon and was killed by Ukrainian militias due to a mistake in identification. His body is expected to arrive in Israel soon.

“Immediately after receiving the unfortunate report of the tragic event, we worked together in full cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the ZAKA’s headquarters in Israel, Chabad emissary in Zhitomir, Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm, ZAKA commander of Ukraine and Chabad emissary Rabbi Yosef Asman, “The Ukrainian authorities to obtain all the documents and release the body of the deceased from Ukraine via the border with Moldova to Romania from there will be flown to Israel for burial.

Haim Weingarten, head of the ZAKA’s color department: “These days, the ZAKA organization works in full cooperation with the Foreign Ministry, and other rescue and charity organizations, and handles dozens of calls and requests daily with humanitarian aid throughout Ukraine. “Working together, we built a unique ‘Israel Together’ platform on the Internet, which will help and connect charities to help rescue Israelis from Ukraine and provide humanitarian assistance and bring medicines throughout the country.”
