Boris Bekyarov died. Mathematician, collector, one of Vasil Bozhkov’s two trusted partners, together with Alexander Tumparov. During his lifetime, Bekyarov was called “the software brain of the Bozhkov empire”.
Mathematics and collecting are related to the famous businessman. The two materialize this in company partnerships.
Before starting his business career, he was a mathematician with a university and scientific career, but at a certain point he became so obsessed with art that he decided to become a collector, which is where he is believed to have crossed paths with Bozhkov.
In 2021 Bekyarov, who had been wanted for more than a year, voluntarily returned from Austria and after 24 hours in custody, he was released on bail of BGN 44,000. He was banned from leaving the country.
Medical, legal and other documents related to his state of health provided by Boris Bekyarov, including from hospitals, courts and prosecutor’s offices in the Republic of Austria, were added to the materials of the pre-trial proceedings.
The charges are related to the activities of Bozhkov’s gambling companies, in some of which Bekyarov is a partner. In the course of the case, a claim worth BGN 12,186,620.03 was filed against Bekyarov in the Burgas District Court. He is already accused by the prosecutor’s office of participating in an organized criminal group led by Vasil Bozhkov, of extortion, financial and tax crimes of particularly large proportions, bribery and official crimes.
The claim includes sums of money, two immovable properties (a villa building under rough construction in the town of Tsarevo and a plot of land in the town of Sofia) with a total value of BGN 596,500, as well as a Capelli boat (length 9.60 m, width 3.30 m., manufactured in 2017) worth BGN 273,816, and one Peugeot passenger car.
