The Labor Court ratified an agreement between the public bank Caixa Econômica Federal and the MPT (Public Ministry of Labor) of the Federal District, putting an end to the lawsuit filed by the organization, after complaints against the former president of the institution Pedro Guimarães.
By virtue of the agreement, ratified on Wednesday (26), Caixa agrees to pay R$ 10 million (US$ 2 million) as compensation within a maximum period of 30 days, for collective moral damages. The value will go to non-profit institutions and the reimbursement will be required by the bank from Guimarães.
La Caixa confirmed the approval of the judicial agreement, on the complaints of moral and sexual harassment involving the former president of the financial institution, and assured that it will demand compensation from Guimarães.
