Intelligence reports produced by the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) indicate that there was participation of transporters and companies suspected of being involved in illegal mining in the actions of Lula’s Bolsonaro opponents on January 8.

In documents delivered to the Parliamentary Investigative Commission of the attacks, the agents affirm that 272 trucks entered Brasilia since November to participate in the demonstrations in front of the Army headquarters and in the destruction of the headquarters of the three powers.

According to the report, approximately half of the vehicles belonged to companies, while the rest of the trucks were mostly new or semi-new and registered by individuals with interests in companies in the agricultural sector.

For Abin, these characteristics indicate that the participation of independent truckers was low in the coup acts.

The agency also exchanged information on machinery found in operations to combat environmental crimes in the state of Pará.

The agents assure that Enric Juvenal da Costa Lauriano, a businessman who participated in the prominence lobby, would have helped to publicize the channels for collecting money for the coup movement. The report did not manage to contact Lauriano.
