The British are worried: will the pubs run out of beer in the World Cup?

by time news

According to the report, there is a high chance of a beer shortage in the Kingdom due to a strike by drivers and workers at the company – GXO Logistics, which is responsible for about 40% of the deliveries to pubs and clubs throughout the UK. The workers’ strike follows a pay cut and “continuous deterioration of conditions”, according to the strikers. In fact around 1,000 dry drivers and workers – at GXO Logistics are planning to hold a first round of strikes between October 31st and November 4th at warehouses across the UK.

The Unite union said the strike would “delay the ability of pubs and other venues to renovate their cellars ahead of the World Cup”. More operations were planned closer to opening on November 20 if the conflict was not resolved. The strikes will affect pubs and places supplied by many breweries including: Heineken, Stonegate, Admiral and more.
