The Buenos Aires Challengerwhich will be played between September 29 and October 6 at the Racket Club in Palermohas already confirmed its list for the main draw. Federico Coria (79th in the ATP ranking), finalist last season, and Francisco Comesaña (91°), one of the national revelations of this year, will be the top seeds in the ninth edition.
The Santa Fe nativeformer world number 49 and finalist of the ATP in Bastad in 2021 and Córdoba in 2023, will be the first seed and will seek to improve on the outstanding campaign of the last edition, when he fell with his compatriot Mariano Navone in the final.
On the Mar del Plata side, quarter-finalist in that competition (lost to Facundo Díaz Acosta in the longest match in the history of the tournament), is enjoying the best season of his career after reaching the third round at the US Open and Wimbledon, competition in which he eliminated the world number 6, the Russian Andrey Rublev. The third seed, Camilo Ugo Carabelli (93rd), who reached the final of the Buenos Aires Challenger in 2022, is also Argentine.
The list also includes the presence of: Facundo Bagnis (132nd), finalist at this year’s Córdoba Open and runner-up at the Buenos Aires Challenger in 2019; Juan Manuel Cerúndolo (185th), winner of the trophy in the 2022 edition of the competition held at the Racket Club; the Bolivian Hugo Dellien (106th), who will seek to obtain his fourth title of the season on this circuit (he was champion in Iasi, Liberec and Bonn); the Dutch Jesper De Jong (128th), who surprised at Roland Garros by beating the British Jack Draper and taking a set off the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, later champion; and the Brazilian Felipe Meligeni Alves (139th), who this year made it to the main draws at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
So far The main draw of the Buenos Aires Challenger will feature ten Argentine tennis players. In addition to the aforementioned Coria, Comesaña, Ugo Carabelli, Bagnis and Cerúndolo, Romanian Burruchaga (123°), Federico Gomez (177°), Facundo Mena (190°), Santiago Rodríguez Tavern (226°) y Andrea Collarini (244th). It is worth noting that Collarini, a quarter-finalist in 2019, will maintain his perfect presence in a competition that saw him compete in the eight previous editions.
Tickets for the main draw, which will begin on Monday 30th, can be purchased through Ticketek from $4,000 pesos.The qualifying round will be played on Sunday 29th with free admission.
