Burkina: The Burkinabè National Tourist Office announces the joint organization of SITHO and VITHRO next October
Ouagadougou, August 24, 2023 (AIB): The Secretary General of the Ministry in charge of Tourism, Fidèle Aymar Tamini, announced Thursday in Ouagadougou, the joint organization of the International Tourism and Hospitality Fair of Ouagadougou (SITHO) and the Vitrine International Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Association of Ouagadougou (VITHRO), from October 26 to 29, 2023, to show that the country is accessible despite the security crisis.
“The joint holding of these two (02) events aimed at promoting tourism aims to highlight the tourism potential of our country and to support the efforts of private actors, who help keep the sector alive, despite the crisis and the bad publicity tending to show that Burkina Faso is not a country to be visited”, indicated the Secretary General of the Ministry in charge of tourism, Fidèle Aymar Tamini.
Mr. Tamini spoke Thursday at a press conference to decline the main lines of the organization of these cultural and tourist events.
According to the SG, this decision reflects the will of the highest authorities of Burkina Faso to make the tourism sector one of the levers of economic and social development.
According to him, these tourist events will take place on the site of the International Crafts Fair of Ouagadougou (SIAO), under the theme: “Promotion of internal tourism, a factor of resilience”, with the Center-South (Manga) as the region. guest of honor.
Fidèle Tamini clarified that this theme challenges the various actors on the need to reflect on the development of internal tourism.
“It provides an opportunity to identify the challenges faced by stakeholders in carrying out tourism activities,” he added.
The Secretary General indicated that the organization of this event aims to increase the visibility at the African level and internationally of the tourism products and activities of Burkinabe companies.
It also aims to present tourism investment opportunities in Burkina Faso and Africa.
Among other things, it aims to strengthen partnership and trade relations between African tourism professionals and provide a framework for the promotion and reflection on tourism.
Furthermore, it aims to contribute to the development of intra-community tourism and to strengthen the practice of internal tourism.
Mr. Tamini also urged the Burkinabè press to work for the promotion of tourism to make the country a privileged destination.
