New ministers have taken charge today in the Eknath Shinde-led government after a month of coming to power in Maharashtra.

Amid the split in the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena party, Eknath Shinde of the party formed the government on June 30 along with the BJP. On that day, Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis, a former Chief Minister from the BJP, was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister.

The 18-member cabinet has been sworn in after 40 days of disagreement between the two parties on the issue of cabinet formation. Both the BJP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena got 9 ministers each. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari administered the oath.
