After a journey that lasted four years, the Libyan calligrapher, Al-Sharif Aqirah Ahmad Al-Zanati, announced the completion of writing the Holy Qur’an. This came amid a large presence of sheikhs, clerics, and some official figures.

Al-Sharif learned Arabic calligraphy and the arts of calligraphy from a young age, and he graduated in this field until he completed his education well, and he underwent a special course in Arabic calligraphy from Sheikh Abu Bakr Sassi, who wrote the Jamahiriya Qur’an in the previous era, and he learned from him, as he was diligent and persistent in his teaching.

In media statements, Al-Sharif said that he had dreamed of writing the Qur’an since his childhood, and continued that this dream had become like a bell that would ring to wake him up from time to time.

The beginning of the idea consisted of steps, the first of which was good preparation, and he did not start writing until six months had passed from the preparation stage. He said that I was very careful in writing from the beginning, starting with his consultation with the sheikhs, then a visit to the Holy Qur’an Complex in Medina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, all of these ideas. They gathered and put it in this Qur’an.

He added that he collected the Qur’an in four quarters well, with valuable notes, until the Qur’an reached its final form. He then approved the topic of the printing press that would print this Qur’an, provided that it would be done with good printing, paper, and design.

He explained that every good idea needs a sponsor or sponsorship from those with money, and he said that when there is money with a real owner of an idea, there will be a real project, and this is what happened with passion, especially since the financier wanted to see a distinctive Qur’an, in addition to Ahmad, who wanted to write. A distinguished Qur’an, as there was great agreement between the writer and the shepherd.

He added, “In Libya, the situation was unstable, such as the power outage, for example. It is difficult to sit from morning until evening without the power being cut off, and it is also difficult to work from home in light of the social conditions, social visits, customs and traditions, especially since this work The big one needs full dedication to complete it so that it ends in a distinctive way.

So he chose Turkey to complete this mission while saying that the Qur’an and the work remain for Libya, so he called it “Libya’s Qur’an” and announced it in the capital, Tripoli, Libya.

He concluded by saying that the challenge he faced was the distance from his family, as he was accompanied by his father, who was suffering from illness, and he was moving between the hospital and completing his project to write the Qur’an, with the difficulty of maintaining a stable mood in light of the circumstances he was going through.
