Dubai: 29 members arrive at Dubai Expo on a camel adventure desert ride A group of 17 women and 12 men arrived in Expo City after a 13-day journey through the scorching heat of the desert. The travelers said that it was the mental and physical strength and teamwork that made their endeavor a success.
The journey started from the Liva Desert in Abu Dhabi. The expo officials gave a warm welcome to the adventurers who reached the entrance of the expo after traveling 640 km through the long desert of the UAE.
The camel adventure trip was organized by the Dubai Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center. Explorers from all over the world take part in the trip, which has been organized by the Heritage Center for eight years. This time, the adventurers were selected from 21 countries.
Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmok, Chief Executive of the Hamdan Heritage Center, led the delegation.
Apart from women adventurers Hakeema Gait and Khaula Al Balushi, Batul Gait and Saeed Mohammed Rice were among the other passengers from the UAE. Howard Leadham (UK), Madavi Ahmad (Saudi Arabia), Andreas Wim Digas, Pauline Piusker (Emilia Piusker (Germany)), Mariam Suhrawardy (USA), Prijumon Dominic, Bilal Palekar, India Nicola Bettio, Nicole Bassetto (Italy), Justin Warplog (Netherlands), Mohammed Ahmadar (France), Renറ്റ്t Antolkovich (Austria), Claudia Grandberg (Nicaraga), Jana Vintrova (Czech), Laura Ista (Czech) Brazil), Monica Teresa (Poland), Ann Carin (Belgium), Slyke Fitzer (South Africa), David Pescator (Spain), Amina Sami (Egypt), Gowl Bang (South Korea), and Nathaniel Alpaca (Philippi with desert) Others who participated in the trip. Out of the 300 applications received by the Heritage Center, 29 were shortlisted. Only those who have acquired the fitness required for an adventurous journey aware of the traditional practices of the UAE will be selected for the trip.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, greeted the camel travelers in the desert. The aim of the trip is also to learn about the lifestyles of the desert dwellers and the biological and geographical features of the deserts.
