Both the capital markets of the country ended the outgoing week (August 25 to 29) with various indices rising. Also, the market capitalization of both the stock exchanges has increased by 13 thousand 36 crore 22 lakh taka. Besides, during the discussion period, Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE) transactions have increased in the amount of Tk.
This information was revealed on the basis of DSE’s weekly market review on Saturday (August 31).
According to the data, during the week, the main index of DSE DSEX increased by 104.50 points or 1.83 percent to 5 thousand 804 points. Among other indices, DSE-30 index rose by 34.12 points or 1.63 percent to 2,124 points, DSE Shariah index by 22.18 points or 1.82 percent to 1,241 points and DSMEX index (SME index) by 10.15 points. Or 0.82 percent decreased to 1 thousand 223 points.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at Tk 6 lakh 99 thousand 581 crore 54 lakh. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of DSE was Tk 6 lakh 92 thousand 831 crore 80 lakh. That is, the market capital has increased by 6 thousand 749 crores 74 lakhs in a week.
3 thousand 170 crore 18 lakh taka was traded in Dhaka stock exchange in the last week. And in the week before the farewell week, the transaction was 3 thousand 122 crore 5 lakh rupees. That is, the transaction in DSE has increased by Tk 88 crore 13 lakh within a week.
A total of 397 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE in the outgoing week. Among the companies, 293 increased, 86 decreased and 18 remained unchanged. And 16 were not traded.
In Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the overall index of CSE rose by 142.19 points or 0.86 percent to 16 thousand 520 points. Among other indices of CSE, CSE-30 index increased by 2.20 percent to 13 thousand 19 points, CSCX increased by 0.90 percent to 9 thousand 954 points, CSI index increased by 0.84 percent to 1 thousand 47 points and SESMEX (SME Index) by 3 .23 percent down to 2,671 points.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at Tk 7 lakh 27 thousand 296 crore 9 lakh. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of CSE was Tk 721 thousand 960 million. in money That is, the market capital has increased by 6 thousand 286 crores 48 lakhs in a week.
274 crore 14 lakh taka was traded in Chittagong Stock Exchange in the outgoing week. And in the week before the farewell week, 51 crore 80 lakhs were traded. In other words, the transaction in CSE increased by Tk 22 crore 23 lakh within a week.
A total of 310 shares and units of companies participated in trading on CSE in the outgoing week. Among the companies, share and unit prices of 158 rose, 133 fell and 19 remained unchanged.
