Both the stock markets of the country ended the outgoing week (August 18 to 22) with various indices falling. Along with this, the market capitalization of both the stock exchanges decreased by 35 thousand 222 crore 60 lakh taka. Besides, during the discussion period Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE) decreased in the amount of Tk.
This information was revealed on the basis of DSE’s weekly market review on Saturday (August 24).
According to the data, DSE’s main index DSEX fell by 203.92 points or 3.45 percent to 5,699 points during the week. Among other indices, DSE-30 index fell by 88.76 points or 4.07 percent to 2,090 points, DSE Shariah index by 45.64 points or 3.61 percent to 1,219 points and DSMEX index (SME Index) by 58.42 points. Or 4.52 percent decreased to 1 thousand 233 points.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at Tk 6 lakh 92 thousand 831 crore 80 lakh. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of DSE was Tk 7 lakh 8 thousand 964 crore 40 lakh. That is, the market capital has decreased by 16 thousand 132 crores 59 lakhs within a week.
In the outgoing week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) traded 3 thousand 122 crore 5 lakh taka. And in the week before the farewell week, the transaction was 6 thousand 411 crore 11 lakh rupees. That is, the transaction in DSE has decreased by 3 thousand 289 crore 7 lakh rupees within a week.
A total of 394 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE in the outgoing week. Among the companies, 32 increased, 357 decreased and 5 remained unchanged. And 19 were not traded.
In the other capital market Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the overall index of CSE CASPI decreased by 653.52 points or 3.83 percent to 16 thousand 378 points. Among other CSE indices, CSE-30 index fell by 3.21 percent to 12,915 points, CSCX by 3.83 percent to 9,865 points, CSI index by 3.96 percent to 1,038 points and SESMEX (SME Index) by 10 .22 percent decreased to 2 thousand 761 points.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at Tk 721 thousand 960 million. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of CSE was 740 thousand 99 crore 62 lakh taka. in money That is, the market capital has decreased by 19 thousand 90 crores 1 lakh taka in the span of a week.
51 Crore 80 Lakh Tk. And in the week before the farewell week, Tk. 95 crores and 2 lakhs were traded. In other words, during the week, transactions in CSE decreased by Tk 43 crore 22 lakh.
A total of 300 shares and units of companies participated in trading on CSE in the outgoing week. Among the companies, 28 advanced, 260 declined and 12 were unchanged.
