In the outgoing week (March 24 to 28) in the country’s stock market, the indices traded in a downward trend. Trading volume also fell along with the index throughout the week. Besides, the market capitalization of both the stock exchanges decreased by more than 22 thousand 954 crore rupees in the outgoing week.
This information was revealed in the weekly market review of Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE) on Saturday (March 30).
1 thousand 975 crore 75 lakh 70 thousand taka was traded in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on the last working day of the farewell week. And the week before the farewell week, 1 thousand 985 crore 14 lakh 10 thousand taka was traded. That is, the transaction in DSE has decreased by 9 crore 38 lakh 40 thousand rupees within a week.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at 6 lakh 79 thousand 229 crores. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of DSE was 6 lakh 92 thousand 540 crores. That is, the market capital has decreased by 13 thousand 311 crores in a week.
During the week, the main index of DSE, DSEX, decreased by 163.34 points or 2.75 percent to 5 thousand 778 points. Among the other indices, DSE Shariah index decreased by 38.49 points or 2.98 percent to 1 thousand 254 points and DSE-30 index decreased by 46.63 points or 2.27 percent to 2 thousand 11 points.
A total of 393 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE in the outgoing week. Among the companies, 35 advanced, 343 declined, 15 were unchanged and 18 were not traded.
Another capital market, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), traded 97 crore 17 lakhs on the last working day of the outgoing week. And in the week before the farewell week, Tk 66 crore 1 lakh was traded. In other words, during the week, transactions in CSE decreased by 31 crore 16 lakh taka.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at 7 lakh 10 thousand 677 crore 18 lakh taka. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of CSE was Tk 7 lakh 20 thousand 331 crore 27 lakh. in money That is, the market capital has decreased by 9 thousand 634 crores 9 lakhs within a week.
During the week, the overall index of CSE CASPI decreased by 384 points or 2.26 percent to 16 thousand 553 points. Among other indices of CSE, CSCX decreased by 2.13 percent to 9,951 points, CSE-30 index decreased by 0.52 percent to 12,701 points and CSI index decreased by 1.84 percent to 1,074 points.
A total of 312 companies’ shares and units were traded on the CSE during the outgoing week. Among the companies, share and unit prices of 48 increased, 243 decreased and 21 remained unchanged.
