Both the stock markets of the country ended the closing week (September 8 to 12) with falling indices. However, the market capitalization of both the stock exchanges has increased by 3 thousand 613 crore 47 lakh taka. During the discussion period, Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE) transactions decreased in the amount of Tk.
This information was revealed on the basis of DSE’s weekly market review on Saturday (September 14).
According to the data, during the week, the main index of DSE, DSEX, decreased by 2.13 points or 0.04 percent to 5 thousand 726 points. Among other indices, DSE-30 index fell by 13.61 points or 0.64 percent to 2,100 points, DSE Shariah index increased by 16.87 points or 1.37 percent to 1,245 points and DSMEX index (SME index) by 34.29 points. Or 2.84 percent decreased to 1 thousand 173 points.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at Tk 6 lakh 93 thousand 329 crore 3 lakh. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of DSE was Tk 6 lakh 92 thousand 431 crore 18 lakh. That is, the market capital has increased by 897 crores and 85 lakhs in a week.
3 thousand 221 crore 45 lakh taka was traded in Dhaka stock exchange in the last week. And in the week before the farewell week, the transaction was 3 thousand 994 crore 6 lakh rupees. In other words, the transaction in DSE has increased by 772 crore 60 lakh rupees during the week.
A total of 396 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE in the outgoing week. Among the companies, 107 increased, 271 decreased and 18 remained unchanged. And 16 were not traded.
In Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the overall index of CSE has decreased by 239.74 points or 1.45 percent to 16 thousand 140 points. Among other indices of CSE, CSE-30 index fell by 0.66 percent to 13 thousand 12 points, CSCX by 1.48 percent to 9 thousand 729 points, CSI index by 0.82 percent to 1 thousand 30 points and SESMEX (SME Index) by 3.03 percent. Decreased to 2 thousand 512 points.
On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization stood at 722 thousand 242 crore 67 lakh taka. And on the last working day of the week before the farewell week, the market capitalization of CSE was Tk 7 lakh 23 thousand 242 crore 67 lakh. in money That is, the market capital increased by 2 thousand 715 crore 62 lakh taka in the span of a week.
35 crore 54 lakh taka was traded in Chittagong Stock Exchange in the outgoing week. And in the week before the farewell week, 71 crores and 81 lakhs were traded. In other words, during the week, transactions in CSE decreased by 36 crore 27 lakh taka.
A total of 323 companies’ shares and units were traded on the CSE in the outgoing week. Among the companies, 69 advanced, 242 declined and 12 were unchanged.
