Investigators from the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) will continue to investigate the criminal case against the head of Krasnodar, Andrei Alekseenko, who is suspected of bribery. TASS writes about this with reference to the statement of the prosecutor of the Kuban, Sergei Tabelsky.

“A criminal case has been opened and transferred to the central office of the TFR,” the prosecutor’s publication quotes. The press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Krasnodar Territory “Kommersant” did not comment on the statement.

On December 22, the regional department of the ICR opened a case against Andrey Alekseenko under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking bribes on an especially large scale). The imputed crime, according to the investigation, was committed by the head of the regional capital in 2018 as vice-governor of the Kuban. Allegedly, one of the Kuban developers presented Andrey Alekseenko with a gun worth 1.6 million rubles. as a reward for assistance in obtaining an opinion on compliance (issued by the department for supervision in the construction sector of the Krasnodar Territory) of an apartment building in the Prikubansky district of Krasnodar.

After interrogation in the evening of the same day, Andrei Alekseenko returned to his official duties, the press service of the Krasnodar mayor’s office reported.
