“Armenian Center of International and Comparative Law” (chairman: Siranush Sahakyan), under the auspices of the “Armenian Legal Center of Justice and Human Rights” operating in the Armenian Court system, in 2024. At the beginning of March, he officially presented the cases of eight Armenian military personnel to the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances. All cases were filed in cooperation with the victims’ families.

This was reported by the central office of the ARF Bureau of Hay Dat.

It is noted that the mandate of the aforementioned working group, established by the UN Human Rights Council, includes a thorough investigation of the disappearances of people to reveal the circumstances of their disappearance, as well as the formation of a legal basis for bringing the perpetrators to justice.

In each of the presented cases, the injured military personnel were either conscripted or volunteer servicemen. Unfortunately, the remains found during the search and rescue operations were not identified as those of the missing persons.

Attached to the submitted cases are many testimonies of the comrades of the missing persons, which demonstrate the terrorist nature and war crimes of the Azerbaijani armed forces. There are testimonies about the selfless behavior of one of the servicemen who, giving priority to providing medical aid to his wounded comrades, refused it and is currently considered missing.

“Armenian Legal Center” and “Armenian Center of International and Comparative Law” continue their work in the direction of bringing Azerbaijan to justice for Armenian prisoners of war, missing persons, as well as war crimes committed.

For obvious reasons, the information about the above is quite sensitive by its nature, and the distribution of messages about such materials by the Armenian Dat system is carried out according to the purpose, in order not to damage the processes started in different directions.
