The Real Club de Golf de Castiello men’s team emerged winners this weekend of the Spanish Men’s Interclub Championship, which was held in Pineda (Seville). It is an amateur event with a lot of national tradition, in which the best clubs in Spain participate.
The Castiello Club defeated the Catalans Terramar de Sitges, one of the most representative teams, in the final. The final outcome was settled in the “match-play” mode and the tiebreaker was decided by Miguel Díaz Negrete Palacios on hole 3. 16 teams from all over Spain participated in this prestigious championship, with those from Castiello being the only Asturians in the event. With yesterday’s victory, there are now four occasions in which the Principality club has won this award: 2002, 2007, 2015 and 2023. The team that represented the Castiello Club was made up of Miguel Díaz Negrete Palacios, Pablo Alperi, Alberto Fernández, Daniel Granda, Juan García Ochoa, with Miguel Díaz Negrete Sanz as captain. The Asturian expedition returned with a key championship and a great performance.
