The Castilla y León Mental Health awards bring together nearly 150 people

The jury of the Castilla y León Mental Health Federation decided its 2023 Mental Health Awards in favor of companies IKEA Valladolid y Pepsico Burgos.

The regional media outlet has also been awarded The CyL Reason and the informative space ‘Mental Taboo’, which is produced by the EFE Agency y Amazon Music.

“In this edition we wanted to put the focus, especially, on regional agents who carry out close and direct work favoring the inclusion and vision of people with mental health problems and the work of the associative movement in Castilla y León”he assured Elena Briongos, president of the Castilla y León Mental Health Federation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”97238″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The federation explains that, “In response to the intense and important work that, from the associative movement, is carried out to promote the employability of people with mental health problems, it has been decided to highlight the work of IKEA“. A high-impact company based in Valladolid, “who has recently collaborated in the conditioning and equipment of the Day Center of our association Salud Mental Palencia as well as a supervised home of the association El Puente Salud Mental Valladolid”explains Briongos. Added to this is the collaboration with the federation in training actions aimed at participants of the PasaXT Towards Employment project, and in the Conferences on Employment and Mental Health. “It should be noted that IKEA also develops emotional health programs among its workers, showing special sensitivity to caring for the well-being of its teams, also collaborating as an example of good practice in our ‘Guide to Adaptations and Good Practices: Mental Health and Wellbeing in the job”Elena recalls.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”97242″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”97244″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In the same line of active and proactive collaboration in favor of the labor inclusion of the most disadvantaged groups, we wanted to reward the work carried out by the delegation of PepsiCo in Burgos. “This company with great impact in the province of Burgos has collaborated since 2017 with our association Salud Mental Burgos Prosame. Since 2021, the Special Employment Center ‘La Brújula’ has moved to the company’s Distribution Center where a total of 79 people currently work in different jobs.”, explains Briongos. The work of the regional media joins the recognitions The Reason Castilla y León, with its director Raúl Mata at the helm. “In this case we wanted to recognize the trajectory of support for our Mental Health associative movement, demonstrating over the last decade a special sensitivity and interest in the subject and adapting to the recommendations of style and approach to the information prepared by the associative movement.”says the president of the federation. And finally, the jury wanted to add to these awards a more innovative space such as the MENTAL TABOO podcast, highlighting the new way of talking about mental health that better connects with younger segments of the population that are more difficult to reach through more conventional media”says Briongos. In each episode, a guest is welcomed who shares the most intimate side of herself with the sole purpose of being useful to her listeners and normalizing mental health care.
