The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal and other Election Commissioners are coming to the press conference amid the protests and discussions regarding the resignation of the Election Commission.
They will talk to the media on Thursday (September 5) at 12 noon. The Chief Election Commissioner gave this information to reporters at the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat on Wednesday.
According to a press release sent by Election Commission Director (Public Relations) Shariful Alam, the Election Commission will speak to journalists at the conference room of the election building at 12 noon on Thursday.
In response to the journalist’s question whether he will resign or not, CEC said, ‘I will give details tomorrow Thursday. Everything will be announced at the press conference.’

It is noted that after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, there were demands for the reform of the Election Commission and the resignation of the Election Commission.
In 2022, five people including Kazi Habibul Awal took charge of the first Election Commission under that law after the EC was enacted. He was appointed on February 27 that year. The other four members of this commission are retired Brigadier General Ahsan Habib Khan, retired District and Sessions Judge Rasheda Sultana, retired Senior Secretary Md. Alamgir and Anichur Rahman.
