Grandma Rada Deleva, who was the oldest resident of Terter village and Kubrat municipality, died at the age of 101 years and 5 months, announced the mayor of the village, Nikolay Ivanov.

Baba Rada was known for not missing elections and was always among the first to vote.

She was born in the village of Cherna, region Tulcea /Romania/. When she was only 18 years old, she moved with her other eight brothers and sisters to the village of Terter in 1940 after the treaty signed in the city of Craiova between the then Kingdom of Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Romania.

All her life, grandmother Rada worked in the fields and raised her brothers and sisters alone. He has three children of his own.

With an indomitable spirit, at the age of 97, she won the difficult battle with COVID-19, when she lost a lot of weight, and the doctors practically wrote her off. Despite everything, she gathers strength. For 50 years, she lived with only one kidney, which was operated on from a cyst and stones. He lost his first kidney to a cold and inflammation when he was 52 years old, and he lost the sight of his left eye at a very young age.

“Young people must move, because movement is life, work and build with honesty, trust in God, relatives and family. We did not know the evils between us at the time, we were united and we have always worked with honesty” , shared the centenarian.
